Landscape After Drought. Oil on 5 small linen panels, 80cm x 23cm, 2012

I paint as I reminisce, remember, sometimes ruminate about places I have visited. After the Great Eastern Earthquake in Japan in 2011, conventional vanishing point depictions of landscape became meaningless for a while. I also like to imagine the landscape from a bird's eye view and draw it out from there thinking about energy, temperature, weather, light and other things I can recall.
